Let's use the following example. You have a travel agent business, Future Travel Ltd (www.futuretravel.co.uk), and have an email account with yahoo.
Which email address looks more professional?
futuretravel214@yahoo.co.uk
or
enquiries@futuretravel.co.uk?
If you have a domain name for your business then it is easy to have email forwarding set up for it.
You can now use your domain name as an email address.
We can set up forwarding so that emails sent to
enquiries@futuretravel.co.uk
and
holidays@futuretravel.co.uk
will automatically forward to futuretravel214@yahoo.co.uk.
You can have up to 10 different named email addresses - with ANYWORD(S) in front of the @futuretravel.co.uk, e.g.
sales@futuretravel.co.uk
yourname@futuretravel.co.uk
accounts@futuretravel.co.uk
full.name@futuretravel.co.uk
and all of these will automatically forward to futuretravel214@yahoo.co.uk.
If you require other 'alias' email addresses, just let me know and I will add them to the mailserver settings.
The two main advantages of this are:
1. It looks much more professional on letterheads etc. when the email address matches the website address.
2. If ever in the future you want to change your local email provider (e.g. to Googlemail, or BT Internet etc) then all I have to do is make a simple change to the forwarding on the server, and your company email addresses will still work. No need to change all your office stationery!
3. If you want individual aliases to forward to other than futuretravel214@yahoo.co.uk that is also easy to set up. e.g. accounts@futuretravel.co.uk could forward to his.email@hotmail.com (or whatever it is).
